Intertween.*

SPEC REFERENCE WIKI · English

Every technical term should explain itself.

A linkable reference for protocol notation, attributes, states, components, entities, contextual actant roles, operational agents, profiles and normative rules. Every entry has a stable anchor that can be cited in discussions, issues and implementation notes.

HOW TO REFERENCE

Use the visible term in prose and link to its permanent anchor. Example: [rights.status] is !MUST in #CoreProfile.

Learning and skills — proposed extension

Intertweens can seed separately represented skills. Evaluation, authorisation and demonstrated capability remain distinct. Read the proposed learning-and-skills profile ↗

Concepts and vocabulary

Relational metadata register: explanation and connected example ↗

The conceptual core is Knowledge Objects, attributable relationships and the relational metadata register, and intertweens. Skills extend this model into reusable methods. Operational roles describe how it is supported. Exact requirements are defined in the profiles below.

Skill

A reusable method for performing an activity under specified conditions. A skill description is distinct from demonstrated capability. Proposed learning-and-skills profile.

Skill Knowledge Object

A separately identifiable representation of a skill’s purpose, method, applicability, evidence, conditions and version history. It links to originating intertweens rather than replacing them. Proposed extension; no current validator conformance claim.

Candidate skill

A proposed method. Evaluation, authorisation and deployment remain separately scoped dimensions.

Learning cycle

Connected observations, interpretations, candidate methods, evaluations, decisions, applications and outcomes. A branching process rather than a required linear lifecycle.

Interpretation record

Proposed record linking an intention or evidence to its operational interpretation or summary, with author, assumptions, omissions, uncertainty and review scope.

Skill evaluation

A scoped record of criteria, baseline, evaluator, context, results and limitations. Positive results do not automatically authorise use.

Skill adoption decision

An attributable decision allowing a defined skill version and use under stated authority and conditions.

Skill application

An activity referencing a skill version and execution context, connected to its observed outcome.

Model adaptation

A process changing a model, with source, transformation, training and evaluation lineage recorded where available. Training provenance does not prove acquisition of a skill.

Recursive self-improvement

Improvement that also changes the methods used to generate or evaluate further improvements. Proposed the protocol records support inspection; they do not guarantee progress or safety.

Object Voice

A proposed interface expressing a Knowledge Object’s permitted information and relationships. An identified system assembles evidence-backed answers, distinguishes interpretation and uncertainty, and routes requests to responsible actors. An answer is not an authorisation. The object remains distinct from the entity it describes.

Relational Trace

Proposed append-only attributable history, separate from the mutable current register. Corrections append linked events. Existing logs do not automatically meet the integrity profile. See /spec/integrity.

Federated Integrity

Profile for signed checkpoints, scoped attestations and independently retained evidence. Verification does not establish truth; recovery requires retained records.

Actor

Participation by a person, organisation or software in a context. Participation, authority and identity disclosure are separate decisions; attribution does not require public identification.

Actor identity disclosure

Recipient- and purpose-specific visibility of actor identity, attributes, identifiers and relationships. Withheld identity remains distinct from unknown identity. Implementation is not yet verified by the prototype.

Masked / pseudonymous actor

An actor represented by a limited identity or context-scoped reference. An underlying identity may be held under separate access rules; pseudonymity is not anonymity or proof of authority.

Anonymous participation

Participation with no identifying link retained in the defined contribution context. No later identification is promised. Unknown source identity is a separate case, and remaining identifying clues must be assessed.

Relational metadata register

The local node’s descriptions of knowledge objects, actors, agents, systems, relationships and applicable conditions. The register describes and references knowledge; it need not contain the source content. Relational describes these connections rather than requiring a specific database technology.

Event log

The attributable record of provenance, changes, validations, contributions, reuse and attribution. Permitted parts may be exchanged across nodes. A log is not automatically immutable or authenticated.

Local node

The organisation’s control point for its metadata register, event log, access rules and connections to local source systems.

Federated index

Makes permitted objects and relationships discoverable across nodes by exposing addresses and permitted metadata. Discovery neither requires a central content store nor grants content access.

protocol

The shared models and rules for describing, verifying and exchanging objects, relationships, rights and events between interoperable local registers. The conceptual model is a recommended direction in this specification, not a completed conformance claim.

Knowledge Object

An independently addressable unit that carries or references knowledge together with the context required to interpret, govern, validate and trace it.

Knowledger

A Knowledge Object representing an addressable, governed and versioned composition of related Knowledge Objects. Every member retains its independent identity, provenance and rights. A folder or search result is not, by itself, a Knowledger.

Membership Assertion

An attributable statement that a version or moving reference participates in a Knowledger under a declared role, validity interval and policy. Membership neither transfers ownership nor mutates the member.

Relation Assertion

A separately governed Knowledge Object asserting a typed relationship, with evidence, method, authority and validation state. A relation does not imply membership.

an intertween

A derived Knowledge Object representing a potentially meaningful pattern, contradiction or phenomenon that emerges through relationships. It cites supporting Relation Assertions and remains distinguishable from source facts. It can seed separately represented skills. Having no assigned responsibility is a possible governance state; accepting responsibility does not erase the originating intertween or establish ownership.

Current Knowledge State

A time-bound, rights-filtered projection produced by resolving a Knowledger for an actor and purpose. It is not an independent source of truth or a replacement for the manifest.

protocol Ledger

Earlier terminology for the logical accountability record formed by Tracker events, Event log describes the generic history function under the 19 September memo. Relational Trace names the proposed integrity-qualified history in the 20 September extension. Ledger does not name the whole local register or node, require blockchain, or guarantee immutable history. This anchor remains for earlier citations.

Wrapper

Preserves a source observation as a Knowledge Object.

Mapper

Maps local meaning without replacing local meaning.

Tracker

Appends attributable Relational Trace events. Checkpoints and independent witnesses are a proposed integrity extension, not an established capability of existing event logs.

Finder

Proposes separately governed relations.

Assembler

Emits versioned Knowledger manifests and projections without overwriting members.

Cultivator

Proposes governed improvements from feedback and outcomes.

Mediator

Resolves permitted exchange and records the decision.

Agora

The shared place where permitted objects become visible to actors.

Concourse

The permission-aware view an actor gets into the Agora. Visibility is evaluated per object, field and relationship.

ATTRIBUTES
